Belinda's accomplishments in the government and scientific research fields serve her well as a leadership coach. She served at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) for more than 30 years in a variety of leadership positions, including Director of Technology Services, Senior Advisor for Voting Standards, and Director of the Office of Standards Services. In these positions, the last two of which were as a member of the Senior Executive Service, she directed units varying from research to policy guidance for NIST. As a leader she managed and coached numerous scientists, engineers, human factors and standards specialists. She also gained national and international experience through her work in standards and laboratory accreditation. Her leadership of organizations ranging from chairmanship of the federal Interagency Committee on Standards Development, the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation, and service as Vice Chair of the American National Standards Institute and of the Illumination Engineering Society of North America has given her insights into the difficulties of working with volunteers from both public and private sector from different nations. Belinda has experienced the complex world today's leaders live in, and she draws on her own background to coach clients through critical challenges and create new opportunities: strategic planning, human resources, building alliances, budget challenges, and maintaining personal integrity.
